How To- Learn a Little to Save a Lot

Most of you know me as a financial educator, which I love to do, BUT…

I have almost twenty years experience in the not-for-profit arena and thirty years experience with small businesses.

For the last month you have not heard much from me because I have been helping a not-for-profit prepare for their annual audit and annual reporting.

Why do I bring this up?

If you have a small business and have not set up the accounting systems you need to thrive, you could be creating much bigger problems that will cost you time and money in the future.

Here are a few things you can do:

1. Know how to read your financial statements and review them monthly.

2. Take care of things as soon as possible. Do not put them off for later with the hopes that they will fix themselves. they will not. Trust me.

3. If you do not know something, ask. And keep asking until you understand. This is true of business or personal finances… or really anything in life.

This agency is going to spend tens of thousands of dollars it could have used furthering its mission because it did not follow these three basic guidelines.

If you have any questions about your personal or business finances email me. I would love to help you find answers to your questions and thrive financially. Best of all, the first consultation is free.
